this was a quick simple box build for my two rockler sign making kits. something ive wanted to do for a long time as the cardboard boxes they came in offered no organization. made from scraps of mahogany and plywood. finish was just two coats of water based general finishes poly. not a fan of water based finishes. did nothing to bring out the color of the wood. hinges were just something i had leftover. lid held tight with rare earth magnets on each corner. rubber bumpers on the bottom. and of course the box name routed with the sign templates. this was strictly for purpose not beauty !
added some pretty blue handles. had these left from some project so, why not !
working with my hands is a joy,it gives me a sense of fulfillment, somthing so many seek and so few find.-SAM MALOOF.
Good job... sure beats my pissant laser cut MDF boxes.
It's the handles and clasps that has always stumped me... makes it difficult to stack... yet without, difficult to lift... life wasn't meant to be easy!
If your first cut is too short... Take the second cut from the longer end... LBD
thanks guys. so you say you dont like the blue handles ? i found em in a box of leftover stuff and i figured ill never have a use for em on anything else, so i figured, why not !
