Wedge Sled

I though about making a sled like this for long time and finally made a prototype that we can use here in the park. This is made from some 3/4" plywood that was laying around and of the size I needed. I made it to swing up to 45 degrees and to make wedges up to 8" long.
It has a stop block on the swinging fence that will maintain the same length of wedges. The stop block is fastened down with a T- bolt that rides in the long T slot. I put in all the threaded inserts for clamping positions for different length wedges. When I make another one when I get home to Grand Rapids, I will make the hold down clamp also on a T bolt using that same T slot. I tried it out on some cedar that was laying around and it works pretty slick. I think it will come in handy for segmented bowls and platters using different angle cuts

Nice work, Jim! Looks like it’ll be handy.

May you have the day you deserve!

Nice sled!

Ryan/// ~sigh~ I blew up another bowl. Moke told me "I made the inside bigger than the outside".

I like it Jim! Looks like a real handy sled.
Very nice design Jim, well thought out for the necessary functions such as the clamps for repeatability. Now you'll need to make a project using this for posting.
That is a well thought out sled Jim.
Fine TS accessory! clamping setup is excellent with the clamp and stop "right there".

You post a lot of great ideas. Really like this one!
Thank you for all the nice comments. I'll be building a better one when I get back home, but this one does work real good.

I have updated the sled by putting a new clamp on it that has a T bolt that rides in the T slot and I drilled holes for 15, 22.5, 30 and 40 degrees for a quick set up.

That's not a jig.   That's art!  👍
Thanks, Ross. I had a guy use it yesterday to cut  crosses at 40 degrees into some urns into which he inserted purple heart wood..............Cheers,Jim
