Copy Trivets

Yes, blatant copies!

I liked the look of dgom's trivets and the fact he mentioned using up scraps. I have plenty of those.

Slight changes, I went with 4 x 2 slats to get about 5-3/4" square (3/8" thick slats). I also used 1/4" dowels at the junctions just for the extra hold to deal with typical spousal abuse 🤠

Made with red oak, fumed and soaked in Watco.

Radius on the edges...

... and silicone footsies

Great weekend project and I've enough scraps to make 10K more.

Thanks dgom!

Those are a good idea, attractive and durable at the same time.

Nice,

Chaos cutting boards can use up a lot of scrap too.

Nice use of those "extras" than accumulate!
Price of wood these days one must use every last little bit.   You did well on this project.   like them.

Nice work Mr. Splinter, these make great use of small extras, and they make great gifts, can be given anytime of the year for no special reason.
Funny. I've been using a lot more scraps lately, too. Good use for them!

May you have the day you deserve!

Very nice!!!!!  Great Project!!!!

Nice job Bruce, I guess there are a lot of us that are using up scraps lately. I just used a scrap I've had for over 25 years. I figured if I didn't use it, it would just get thrown away when I'm gone.

Thanks John!
I agree! A lot of my scraps are small strips from ripping boards so not much project potential, but this style trivet is ideal for them.
This looks like a fun way to put scraps to work. Nice project!
Splint,

Nice trivets, less scraps in your shop.
