I make and donate a clock each year to a worthy cause as part of a fund raiser.
This is the first time I've made a pendulum clock.
I love that after hanging onto it for 25+ years I pulled a live edge board out of storage and used it on this project.
Materials used: Black walnut, Purpleheart, porcelain tile, aluminum angle iron.

I polished the aluminum to a mirror finish then decided that gold would look better than polished silver so I used gold leaf over the bracket. Doh!

I will likely make another version and have so design alteraton ideas for the next one(s).

Nicely done! What’s it finished with?

Ryan/// ~sigh~ I blew up another bowl. Moke told me "I made the inside bigger than the outside".

Great way to present some unique woods and materials!
Has that art deco vibe, well done!
Nice post, first or otherwise. Interesting clock, assuming you have clearance behind the face so it swings fully? If not please explain, my brain is slow, and if I can't see it in motion I get stuck wondering about stuff that I shouldn't. This is new to me, so I don't fully understand that why either, probably just "OLD"

Love that you are making a donation for a cause, worthwhile woodworking.
Thank you for the very kind words, everyone.
I recognize a couple of names from back in the Lumberjack days. I look forward to exploring yours and everyone's projects as well as contributing more to the community.

@Georgewest the clock hangs on a French cleat and has brass screws tapped into the wood to keep it perfectly vertical for the pendulum movement. I didn't think it was a very good photo so I didn't include it but I have with this reply. I hope it clears up the visual for you.

@RyanGI the Finish is Brie wax hard wax oil.

Thanks for the extra pic, there is a lot more chaseway than I imagined from the frontal shot. As they say, A picture is worth a thousand words.

Thanks
