1951 Ford Pickup

I attempted to create a blog of this project, however I commenced way to late in the process. So rather than persist I chose to wait till I'd fully finished the job.
Here is the finished ute. (some Aussie terminology there)

Made from a variety of woods. Chassis is Cyprus pine. The biggest majority of parts thereafter would be WA Jarrah a very hard wood hatch on tools and blades. It is the darker wood. The light colour on the pickup tray and the mouldings around the vehicle is American Maple. The darker stripes are Australian Red Gum. The door skins are Tasmanian oak. A friend very skilfully made the grille and headlights for me.
It's finished in wipe on Polyurethane with the final coat sprayed on. The wheels & steering wheel were purchased from Wooden Bits and Bobs here in Victoria & I believe are made from American Birch. I've copped some flake making it a LH drive because vehicles here are RH drive.
About 60 - 65 hrs of work involved. My sanity was preserved by the distraction of this lovely truck whilst going through initial bladder cancer treatment. It was a lovely distraction.
