This bowl is made out of cherry, with a mahogany foot separated with a maple band. It measures 10 3/4 inches in diameter and about 1 3/4 tall. I wanted the bowl to be as deep as possible, so I added the base making it possible to turn the cherry very thin at the bottom.
I drew the simple diamond border in Lightburn and then used my laser to engrave the rim of the bowl. Then using the laser again, I cut little pieces of ivory to fit my design.
The chatoyance is so strong that all the pictures are of the same bowl, just rotated 90°.
