Kathie wanted this to look like we built house around old ruin. Arbor- quite hidden by grape is made out of western red cedar 2 × 12′s. We bought the grape 25 yrs ago for 50 cents at a garage sale. Now it is 75-100 ft long. It was a fun project. We usually eat dinner under it this time of year. About 10 degrees cooler then the rest of the backyard. Kathie adorns it with her flower habit. She starts them all from seed in our recycled costco tent greenhouse.
Wonderful. I dream about concord grapes.

Thanks for the Editor’s Choice. We really love this spot. Sit and watch the goldfinches, hummingbirds, quail and others. It was worth the effort.
Great spot!

PS- I was a plaster contractor. Son and I did the plaster work. Fun making things look old.
Very beautiful. The fact you use this area almost every day speaks volumes. Great job.
