Tool boxes

Made a couple tool boxes a couple years ago. One was for oldest son’s birthday. Let him chose which one. The brat :) took the walnut one. Walnut and white oak. I use the oak one , Fun build.

I’d have chosen the walnut too!

Thanks Barb, I advised him to take the oak but he sure did not listen. Amazing how much heavier the oak one was.

Oak is a much denser wood. I stopped working with oak because the splinter, open pores etc…

I like the walnut one too. This said both are nice.

I really like the visual effect in the walnut piece.
Not to say they aren’t both beauties but the walnut one really speaks to me,

Nice work!

That walnut is just fantastic! The contrasting colours wow! Great work too, I am amazed at your skills again. Keep the posts coming I love to see your craftsmanship.

Thanks all- I love working with walnut. It is so predictable.

I like working both woods but the oak has the feel of strength and permanence that the more elegant woods like walnut and cherry just don’t have. Your craftsmanship is very nice.

Beautiful boxes. Great job with the walnut drawer fronts. It really shines.
