chainsaw carved fish

This is my first chainsawed fish. No reference pics just the image in my head. Not no where near where the quality i expect of myself but i keep telling myself im just starting out and it takes practice. I want realism while keeping it artistic. I dont think the form is to bad but i think i need better paint. Im a perfectionist so im thinking i cant charge 125 for this but someone elses opinion may be that im selling myself short. So i dont know but here it is up for opinion. Thanks for looking.

It looks great to me go ahead and charge 125 and see what happens. You can alway come down if you want.

I think your doing fine , experience is your way to perfection . Keep the chips flying

Wheaties

Nice and great detail.

Randy - If I'm not on the computer than I'm out making sawdust.

Very nice, one thing I have learned, can’t do if you don’t try. My daughter gave me a plaque that says, " If you can Dream it you can do it" Keep on making sawdust, and we will all get a treat, your craftsmanship.

I like the natural …. so perhaps a change of paint would like how you like it!

Toxins Out, Nature In - body/mind/spirit

This is really cool!
I’m thinking if you tone down the color just a tad, perhaps, it would closely resemble nature’s colors more.
Maybe sand it down some may take some of the sheen off of it.
I do think your selling yourself short!
I would start at $200., seriously!!!
It’s one of a kind, it’s beautiful, it’s an art
Piece, and like Jeff Said, you can always come down.
If you can sell it in a resort type area (with
Some rich people) you should not have any trouble getting 2 bills for it!
What type of paint are you using?
Most paints have flatteners you can add to knock down the sheen….
I sell Axalta (formerly Dupont )
Automotive paints, and we have many customers using it for wood.
We have one granite monument, headstones, that have used automotive acrylic Enamel for years with fantastic results and long term color hold out!
Good luck, and sell up!!!

Thanks steve. Just an acrylic from hobby lobby watered down. I have sanded it back off and it looks a lot better. I will look into trying automotive paint. Thanks for the comment, i appreciate the feedback.
