My wife’s aunt turned 75, so she wanted a very special gift for her birthday. She wanted something that would be very significant and last for years, so after looking for some options she decided to build a Family Tree. Since she was traveling for the celebration it was not that easy, it had to be something light, able to fit inside her bag and/or easy to ensamble; so instead, we switched to a Hanging Family Picture Set with all her children and grandchildren (and even great-grandchildren too…)
I used 20 mm pine for the project. The top board is about 200×450 mm and the hanging boards are 70 mm wide and then personalized lengthed for each of the children. The boards are hanging from a cheap metallic curtain rod we purchased at HomeDepot and I cut to size it accordingly. The pictures are hanging from de rod by some pink ribbons attached with staples from the back. The boards were painted with oil base chocolate stain then pictures were glued and acrylic lack spayed at the end
Honestly I think it was the best gift anyone gave her this birthday and immediately she hanged it up in her house. This was a very cheap and easy project and the impact created is very positive and good for any ocasion
