SHOP SIGN

I always wanted a nice sign for my shop and when I found this beautiful live edge slab of
Manitoba maple ( Box Elder ) I knew this was the right piece to make the sign of .
I recently got a wood burning kit that I planned on using for dating ,numbering and signing my boxes and other projects and thought this may be good time to use it and get a bit of a feel of it .
I laid out the letters and logo (courtesy of my buddy Shipwright ) and went from there and just had fun burning in the different items and the burl features and colour of the slab also added to the overall look .
Nice and big at 48” wide and about 15” high and 1 1/4” thick and I love the bark boarder .
Finished with BLO and a couple coats of lacquer .

Thanks for looking

Klaus
