Winter AC cover

Fishing season is over. I cleaned all the sand out of my garage and organized things. My old house has through wall ACs that leak air like an open window in the winter so I decided it’s time for this back burner project to come to the front. Just a simple plywood box stuffed with insulation and then screwed and caulked into the AC moldings. I think this should be an improvement over the plastic we used in previous years. The first one went into the little one’s room. I’m painting the next one, for the living room. There are 2 more. I haven’t decided yet if I’m going to do both or either of the remaining ones. Depends on what the boss has to say about her honeydo list now that the shop is open again.

Nice. Every fall is the same process for me; clear the backlog of house projects before the real woodworking can begin.

Good solution, looks very nice.

Nice concept.
I hope it works out as planed.

Tor and Odin are the greatest of gods.

Seems to be working already. The only thing is there is only one heating zone and the thermostat is located near the living room AC so if it warms up substantially there, it could end up cooling down the rest of the house. LOL I just can’t win here. I guess I’ll have to make the other 2 boxes after all just to keep it warm upstairs.
