I wanted to make a box to hold the photographic books I have made showing special occasions and holidays we have taken. Since the box was for books I designed the box to look like a book when finished. I used teak, fir. Spanish cedar and spalted maple in this project. I stained the veneer background and the lid and bottom of the box with Saman Cherry stain. I painted the sides with Delta metallic gold paint and while still wet scored the paint to make it look like pages. I kept with my Celtic themes for the marquetry – the Tree of Life.
Thank you for looking.

Anna,
You fooled me! I thought it was really a book for which you made a wood cover. It’s really great!
