I was looking for some symbol patterns to try out and I came across the shawl below – which reminded me of the double wedding ring quilt.

Because my Mom and my Aunt have been avid quilters their entire lives and continue to make several quilts every year, even though they are in the later half of their 80’s… I have been wanting to create something that resembled one of their quilts. So this Pink Shawl, not only fulfils the quilt goal but the symbol pattern as well.
HOWEVER
I’m not sure if I want to do it with this cotton thread. The thread is doubled — a string of white and a string of black …
I’m using a 3mm hook with the double thread, which can be annoying to use, as you have to make sure you get both threads on the hook.
This square took me most of the morning to do and although I could get three done in a day if I really wanted to, I would probably just do one or two on weekends.
Here is an inkling of what the bedspread might look like in this b/w colouring
