Ring Toss for Toddler

My grand-daughter is on the verge of standing/walking and also has moved from sensory exploration to playing… so i’ve started making some soft toys that she will most likely fall on in the coming months as she becomes efficient at walking and that encourages play and muscle development.

The ring toss game started out as crocheting around rubber jar rings (canning). I added little handles on them for 1) options for holding them and 2) options for playing with them .. they link together.

Then I needed something for her to toss them onto. I mulled around a few ideas and decided on a simple stand that has stuffing in the pole part and just a curved bottom that will hopefully help keep it standing up. If this doesn’t work, I can add a stuffed based to it, and maybe even put in some rice or something to keep it stable. We’ll see.

(oh and one ring has a filled in “handle” .. as an option. We’ll see which style she prefers)
