… candy canes or Italian or Hungarian flags! :)

I saw something like this online and decided that the candy cane stripes would make great boot cuffs!!
And I was right .. these are SO cute. The photos don’t do them justice. Of course, they’d look much better with boots — I will have to buy a pair, just so I can take photos of my boot cuff creations :)

The Yarn: bought on special the other day. NICE.;

The Pattern.
I started with chain 31.

  • For next time, I don’t think they need to be as tall. I think “chain 23” would have been tall enough. (taking the tuck-in part just below the fold-down section).
  • I also think that it would help with the edging if I had started with all three colours for the initial loop in the chain, so that the 3 colours were carried all the way around.
    Single crochet 2 rows of each colour in the back loops only, creating ribbing.
  • carry the colours along the bottom .
    Continue with the alternating colours until it is a length of about 12".
  • My colour series was green, red, and white and I ended off with the white so that when I joined them together, the pattern was complete.
    Slip-stitch the first and last colours together and finish off the ends.
    To wear them, with the folded down section, they should be worn “inside out” so that the folded down section does not show the slip stitching.
