Dog Coat - Made To Order

After “finally” finding the right combinations for the dachshund coat, I received a request to make a coat for one of the dogs’ friends.

This little guy is about the size of a water bottle, apparently. So, once again, I am “creating sight-unseen”.
However, knowing how I make the coat, this time I knew what measurements to ask for.

The collar is the same size as the lid on my water bottle. √
And the chest size is the same size as the bubble lid on a McD smoothie. √

Because of the size, I had to chose a different pattern (making this a new challenge re number of rows etc). I felt that the basketweave would be too overpowering for the little guy and it would look funny. So I went searching for another option.
I chose the “moss stitch” because it is compact (and will be warm) and small in nature.
(Note: I won’t use this again because when it comes to the back section, I couldn’t turn and continue — I had to cut the yarn and start again on the other side. The pattern is too different on the front and back to flip it.)

And now… again… I wait to see how close I was with the measurements and see if it actually fits the pooch.

Crossing my fingers. Again.

Yarn Colour: Medium Thyme
Crochet Hook: 4.5 (I chose a smaller hook than usual, also to keep the pattern small and tight)
