Last year, my wonderful niece gave us all a crocheted scrubbie and we all LOVE them…
This past week they were the discussion of at a family gathering, with a request for another one.
So I gave it a try.
Nylon netting, cut in strips … oh how I hate scissors. Being left-handed, cutting has always provided a challenge and cutting netting — argh. But I muddled through it. The strips weren’t pretty but I figured that didn’t matter and I was right.
I used a 6mm hook and started with 6dc; increased with 2 in each; then a row of single crochet followed by decreased dc and finishing it off.
I think the original ones weren’t made of netting… tolle, perhaps (according to research… and apparently the nylong netting is better for scrubbing). We’ll see.
Anyway.. one down, 3 to go.
