Today, I made a winter hat, using Tunisian “in the round” technique.
I didn’t have a pattern so made it up as I went along.
Chain 70 stitches and join together.
I did the first row as SC, just to make my life easier.
Then I loaded the Tunisian hook with red yarn (Tunisian knit stitch) and used the white yarn to finish the stitches.
I did 8 rows of plain knit stitch.
(12 Rows of Pattern)
Next 5 rows of knit stitches (I did three but it could have been a little bit taller)
Next a row of reverse stitch, creating a row of white
Next: decreasing, all knit stitches
a) on the return pass, put stitches 13 & 14 together (repeat around)
b) on the return pass, join stitches 12 & 13 together; repeat
c) 11 & 12 together; repeat
d) 10 & 11 together; repeat
e) 5 & 6 together; repeat
f) 4 & 5
g) 3 & 4
h) 2 & 3
i) two stitches together all the way around until you can’t work it any more
cut yarn and weave the opening closed and tie off.
