Justa Hat

Over the holidays, I was asked by someone if I could make a hat for them. I’m not sure if she really wanted a hat or just wanted me to make something for her… but anyway, I’ve made a hat.

I started off with the magic ring and did the “circle” increases until I was working with hmmmm 14 stitches between increases? I think that’s what it was. I wanted it to be large at the top and then decrease it to fit a head.
Next I did double crochet, chain, skip a stitch, double crochet for two rows.
Next, I did two rows of linked double crochet (linking the stitches together so it will be warmer.)
The next 2 rows were decreases, working primarily with: 2 linked doubled crochets and then a decrease. I kept testing it on my head to get the right circumference.
When it was the right size, I finished off with a row of single crochet and then tied it off.

I like it
I would wear it.
(And I like that it is larger on the top so less likely to get the “hat head” effect on the hair.
