Simple tape measure storage:
This uses a bar of 1/8” aluminum. A brace from a dead extension ladder, a metal bar, or a piece of scrap hardwood might also work. Just mount the bar on stand-offs secured to a board.
This also works well for hanging safety and other glasses in the shop.

Kiefer, the answer to your question is, in a place which works for me and my shop. In this instance, it’s behind my table saw. The layout is temporary, since I have another wall of layout items (e.g, templates, lettering, etc.) When finished, it will be a series of swinging (pivoting) panels.
