For over ten years, I have been self-funding a prayer cloth ministry.  In 2022, I am praying on being able to finally learning tatting to incorporate that into the ministry as well.
Way to go! Good for you

I’ve tried making an afghan design like that - it is HARD TO DO!!!
Bravo to you.

Fifty some years in, that's a hard one. I've remodeled entire houses, done countless unique picture frames, made many clocks, tables, corbels, shelves, coatracks, mirrors and so on over the years.  In the end, it's still difficult to tell people what I do when they ask me what kind of "woodwork" I do.

For example, a few years back, I touched a wood lathe for the first time.  I joined a turning club, some of the members who are nationally known for their AMAZING work.  I had and have no desire to compete with them, so, as often has been the case in my "woodworking" history, I did something different.

For example, during a community clean up day, and older [than me] couple asked for help throwing away a pickup load of plastic. Once I saw what it was, I loaded it all into the back of my pickup. It was about four hundred pounds of Plexi and other plastic ranging in thickness of from 1/8" to 1" and in an amazing array of colors, including transparent, fluorescents.

After the plastics sat around for a year, I experimented with incorporating it into turnings.  I found it made interesting hanging decorations.

A short time before that, I noted no turners were copper plating their wood turnings, so I took up copper plating.

I combined the woodwork with the plastics and the copper plating and it made for some unique product I've not seen anywhere else.

Over the years, I've tried to do things differently when making clocks, tables and so on, such as by incorporating glass etch into wood projects.

on June 25th 2019 I had A MASSIVE STROKE which left me hospitalized for7 months due to AfTER A rcraniectomy is an emergency procedure used to relieve swelling in the brain due to a stroke or a traumatic brain injury. A craniotomy is done in order to allow a surgeon to remove a brain tumor. In both cases, a bone flap, or section][1/3rd] of the skull, is removed I ALSO had to have a 14 inch skin graph taken from my left leg.
this is the deck I built for my Daughter when she bought her house
New to this site, however, I started this project back at Y2K (2000) and finished it July 2017,

These projects are amazing!!

My Arts & Crafts lamps are something I'm happy to have completed, but not much fun to build. I'll try to re-post those later.
For some reason, this wall mirror came out a bit better than I expected A fun and fast build that has copper elements that worked out well.
Certainly not my favorite, but one of them 8^)

This is my favorite. I worked a year on making 2 of them. First started with drawing in 2D autocad , which takes a lot of time (learning process). I had a lot of help from LBD for drawing. and am still grateful to him for that. After drawing I had to find out of what I had in mind could also be realized in reality. Finally, it was equipped with a steering and lifting system. Also the seat is movable and the front wheel bar can tilt. And of course the wheels can turn.

That physical mode is a great build Dutchy, however, take nothing away from your plans... they make the build seem easy... there, your secret is out.

Completed about 2 years ago.   Walnut primary with Holly inlay and poplar as a secondary wood.
The back is Ash Used the plans from Fine Woodworking as a guide.    Some minor changes to fit my tools and abilities.     One of those projects that is a challenge and when complete you ask yourself  "What am I going to do with it!"

52 sets of dove tails, hand cut.   2 hidden compartments  Made all the moldings.    Fun and satisfying project.     3 months of fun.
Love all of your favorites.  Nice.

Completed a few years back, this was my first chair project, and I sit in this chair every day.  It's a replica of the Danish modern design by Poul Jensen.  I built the ottoman as a follow-on project.

That's is one of my favorites too, Ross.

--Nathan, TX. Hire the lazy man. He may not do as much work but that's because he will find a better way.

It was 45 years ago, the first boat I built in my own yard. I’ve built a lot of boats and other things since but this one will always be special.

Thanks, Lazyman.  It was a very satisfying project.
Shipwright - beautiful craft!  I've built a few wood-strip kayaks and a canoe and have dreamed of building a mahogany runabout, but nothing as ambitious as what you have there.  That's just gorgeous.
Thanks guys. I guess after my “apprenticeship” at other yards this was my “masterpiece” in the old definition. I’ve built bigger and maybe nicer since but this one occupies a special spot for me.

Love your chairs Ross!

I do believe that out of all the pieces I have built, my favorite has to be this walnut and ambrosia maple prie-dieu.

Most of the best looking stuff I've made has been given away.  I did start taking pictures of everything before it was sent off but that was more recently.  I gave up my shop to move to SC from OH but I have a 3 car garage now that's smaller than my previous 2 garage and it's housing what was in the garage, previous shop & shed.  As a result, I have much less space and I'm cranking out far fewer projects but as the kids age, they too are occupying far more of my time that previously was devoted to working the wood.

I'll dig through what pictures I do have to see if anything looks like it might be my "favorite project" and I'll post it.
speakin of favorite things i havn't seen ms debbie p in awhile ?
