I guess I’ll pull out the hand plane today.
Remember kids, if you think you got all the nails out, check again. I don’t think this planer knife is ever gonna be scary sharp again. No wolves were injured in this event.

It made a short, loud pop. Nothing much else. I didn’t notice the damage until the next time I set it up. I usually look at the blades. Imagine my surprise. I have no idea where all the bits of blade ended up, it looks like a flaw in the metal to me so probably all in the extractor. £15 and all is right in the workshop. Bagh. My friend said it might be useful for making mouldings. hmmph.

I bought a metal detecting stud finder on Amazon just to avoid that. It works better for the purpose I bought it for than as a stud finder. Go figure..
