Color change over time

In a discussion there was mention of color shifts that occur over time.  Interested to see what others have observed.  I'll start with this one - poplar that really darkened

And then this morning

I think Poplar gets a bad rap but I like using it.
Looks nice after some time passed! I like how some woods change with time and light exposure. I love working with pine because it has a nice glow after a while

That has taken on a nice color over time!
I did a rapid aging test with some cherry for a project one time. I left sample from the same stock I was going to use outside in direct sun for different amounts of days (I think 1-5). It was pretty astonishing how different the colors were in such a short amount of time! I ended up ‘aging’ the milled project pieces, I think 3 or 4 days, before starting the final project. Definitely helped and it kept the color consistent.

Ryan/// ~sigh~ I blew up another bowl. Moke told me "I made the inside bigger than the outside".

you did not say how long time it was or i missed it Barb :<)))

Never knew poplar would do that. The browning looks great!

It looks better now than the "original."

Had some other poplar with color (green and almost a purple or rose) but it turned brown as I worked it.
