Work Bench Build #12: Carpenters Vise Install

2641 views and 0 favorites in

Taking things easy doing one task per day. Worked for a couple of hours and I managed to install the carpenters Vise. I will still have some finish work around the chop on the top once it’s turned over. I still have to decide if I should trim the wooden part of the chop to the same size as the metal. Anyone have ideas?
As always thank you for following along, any questions or comments, fire away…

Thor, nice fish. I went fishing this morning, right after I left the river a guy caught a 30# Salmon. I just rigged up two poles, one for drift fishing and one for throwing Kastmasters for tomorrow. Hopefully I will have better luck than today.

Good progress today, I would leave the chop the size you have it in the picture, better to have more clamping surface than less in my opinion.
Just wanted to say thanks for your posts, they have inspired me to get back to work on my bench. We were out of town for a while and the Salmon are running up river. So my bench has taken a back seat to things until today, when I finally put in some time on mine.
Keep up the good work!
