This is part 10 in a 16 part series: Typical Stuff In The Shop

No,  nobodies going to hire me for a real job-job......(unless a greeter position opens up at Tony_S' place)

I'm just starting the design process for a Murphy bed that will be up on the 11th floor of a tower condo.
I've done a lot of work for the client over a lot of years,  but he's tight with money so I don't know how this is going to turn out.

Went to the condo and took pertinent measurements, and got the inspiration/wants from the owner.
Yes, Corelz, .....Painted White... (my specialty)  :)

Here is the first round of SketchUp drawings that were sent.

That looks nice. Like the case work to the sides and on the murphy also, clean lines.

Main Street to the Mountains

Looks like a clean design.

Ryan/// ~sigh~ I blew up another bowl. Moke told me "I made the inside bigger than the outside".

Ahhhh come on. All that detail hidden with white paint.
Bently, that does look nice.

white......maybe not a dream project but it will pay some bills.

working with my hands is a joy,it gives me a sense of fulfillment, somthing so many seek and so few find.-SAM MALOOF.

Thanks Everyone,

Corelz,  another way to look at it,  that paint really brings out the detail  haha

Pottz,  this is true...... My motto is "Your deposit is important"
For anybody that hasn't been there, you get the deposit and pay off your bills,  then when you get paid for the last job you did, you buy material for the next job.  But, Before your finished,  you need another deposit to pay bills again.
Therefore the motto.     Vicious circle  lol

I don't even know if I'll get it,  but I will still show the processes I go through to try.

I'm also bidding a Bathroom Vanity that will probably be maple.

The paint keeps the lights and heat on. Gotta do what you gotta do.
thats the beauty of being a hobbyist, i do what i want the way i want, or i dont do it.

Looks like a perfect job for a panel master like yourself! Can't think you are looking forward to moving large objects up 11 floors (narrow staircase I assume?) 🙂

I built one of those for the spare bedroom. At about 10'x11' it was a tight fit, just wish I had added one of those attached fold up desks I first saw about 1 week after finishing.
Yes, these types of jobs are what I like to do.

I really don't care what the finish is. It's all in a day, no matter.  Just sign the check......

The tower has a freight elevator so no stairs, but it's the smallest freight elevator I ever seen.
Just have to blanket wrap all the pieces parts and drag them up as you can.
The sour Security Guard that lets you in is the worst part of the process. He thinks he is in the CIA or something.

A greeter? Hell..I'm putting you to work! Don't be pulling the 'old fart' card on me!
We'll attach a broom to your walker...
