I disassembled it, cleaned it, polished the chrome on a buffing wheel with compound, and shot the plastic lazy Susan with Blaster Dry Lube (the white powder that says it is safe on plastics), then re-assembled it.
Then it sat on the shelf for 3 weeks while I tried to figure out what to put in it. That answer came rather quickly as I was seeing random screwdrivers and scissors all over the place. I went around the shop collecting all the scissors and all the screwdrivers and wouldn’t you know it, I only had one unused slot. The very next day, I was at my local lumber yard and they had a recreation of the popular 6-in-1 drivers I love, so snatched one up (see the red handle in the first photo above; bonus, they had them made with their name/number on it so now whenever I need some lumber, I can grab the driver to get their phone number, like it’s 1990 again! Good times!)
Here it is after I initially filled it.
I have already started to memorize that certain drivers are in this thing and to look for it when I need scissors or a driver, so it’s already working quite well. Rarely have to pick it up because of the lazy Susan carousel feature. Because with all these tools in it, it’s not light. I might have to give it another spray of lubricant to keep it going.
If anyone has anyone suggestions on their favorite plastic-on-plastic dry lube, let me know. Currently using this:
