How to get Common Garden Variety clamps to work in your MFT

You do not need to buy special clamps to use in your MFT
Small low budget clamps will do the job just as well.
All that is required is that the clamp shaft will fit into the 20mm MFT holes.

Now you may ask how this could be possible.
its quite simple, modify the existing clamps to do the job.
Once you decide to do this is just a matter of seeing if the clamp shaft will fit down or up a MFT dog hole
If this is the case your in luck big time.

Now examine the end of the clamp bar and find the pin stopping the clamp from separating, its possibly a rivet or even maybe a roll pin
its made from mild steel similar to the ones in the Eiffel Tower but smaller.

There is a history of them being made from gold and used in Naval vessels, but I doubt if you will be privileged to find one these days.

See the picture below, and identify three individual pieces, a purple and silver looking thing, The end of a clamp with a hole in the end of the bar and, thirdly  a bar with a rivet/pin still attached.

Step 1
Drill out the rivet and leave a hole.
Step 2
If necessary enlarge the hole to be able to accept a small Karabina.
Step 3
Visit your local Dollar shop and buy a few Small karabinas.
Step 4
Fit the karabina, (or a nut and bolt will suffice too) or even a bit of coat hanger wire if your really budget strapped
You can now use your clamp in your MFT!
How good is that!

and if your into it the can be used in a top or bottom configuration

task complete.

Note:- Terminology and Technology correction, they are  actually Snap hooks not Karabinas/Carabinas.

Speaking of the Karabinas/Carabinas, where are they used (to hold your pants up maybe)?

The removal of the jaw stops is fundamental to expanding F clamp functionality, just wish the insides didn't fall to the outside on some of those when separated!
Don’t have an MFT, but I’d have to look to see what dimensions sins my f-clamps are and maybe they’d fit in my bench dog holes…

Ryan/// ~sigh~ I blew up another bowl. Moke told me "I made the inside bigger than the outside".
