I’m am sure some of you have built one of these and I am for CERTAIN everyone’s looks better than mine but it does a really good job catching floating dust that my Ricon dust system misses. Also this white elephant is on wheels and I can move near whatever I’m working on. The box is plywood and it uses up to 4 furnace filters. I got the furnace blower free for the asking from a local heating and air conditioning co. Thought I would post it and maybe give some new woodworkers an idea that would help keep their lungs and shop cleaner. Again I apologize for appearance but it really does a good job. I have a second blower and I am building another one and I promise it will look much better than this one. Thank you for looking.

Form follows function. Better than the opposite.

Whatever works, it’s great that people come up with solutions with what they have on hands to overcome a need. Great work.

Thank you guys, you are too kind!

Hey Jack. If it works who cares how it looks! I like it and am inspired to build one for my shop. I like that you made it portable. Great job.

Portable is actually a great idea. My ceiling is too low to mount one and I’ve been thinking about making one of these for a while. Sometimes I’m choking on fine airborne dust and that is definitely no good.

Who cares what it looks like so long as it gets the job done.
If it controls the floating dust, keeping it out of your hard earned high gloss finish, it’s a job well done and a piece of kit worth having.
I actually just got a blower motor today from my neighbor, i am going to be building one of these here soon, i need it bad. Great job.
Lol, my room air filter is a lot uglier. But when I’m machining and there is no dust wafting through the sunlight because I attack it with vacuums, dust collector and air filter, I breathe easier!

Hi Jack! Happy mothers day!
It looks great! I’ll take function over form any day of the week!
Great job!

Thanks Steve. My little corner of the world was covered in sawdust before I made that white elephant but it’s really sucks up all the floating stuff.
