Larry Ciesla's shop

My shop is a dedicated 30×40 steel building I built in 2004 that is totally dedicated to woodworking. At the time I was about 10 years away from retirement and wanted to be sure I’d have an active and creative retirement. Of all the planning I ever did for retirement, there is no doubt that building my shop was the best decision I ever made!

I’ve extensively documented building my shop on my website at:

If you’re thinking about doing something like this and wonder about things like how to heat it, wire it, light it, lay it out, cool it, etc., you might enjoy reading about how I approached all those interesting problems.

Larry,

What a nice shop! Thanks for sharing.

Another pro shop.

It’s very spacious and the windows are such a treat.
Great setup

Larry love the shop, very professional. Like the openness. Martin you have your work cut out!

Nice shop Larry. Is it just me or does your 30×40 look a lot bigger than my 30X40? …. gotta be an illusion.

The early bird gets the worm but its the second mouse that gets the cheese.

It only looks bigger because there are no boats taking up half the space. LOL ;-)

Losing fingers since 1969

I’ve always wanted to build a boat, but furniture projects keep getting in the way. Funny thing is that when I designed the shop I thought I might be building horse drawn carriages.
