Storage for the mudroom

First project (2017) - This little cabinet holds a rollout shelf with a small clothes hamper. Then there is a drawer to deal with all the stuff that tends to be in the way on the counter of the mudroom. Painted the case to match the other cabinets already in the room, but wanted the top to match the tones in the room so did a glue up of cypress. Also did that for the drawer front. Lot of frustration with the drawer and door, but learned a lot.

Second project (2020) -Wanted to have a place to store various items related to our dogs in the mudroom in our home. We don't use the shower very often so decided to make a small rolling unit that we could place in the spot by the shower. We can roll it out of the way when we need full access, like when my husband washes the dogs!  Painted to match the existing cabinets, other than inside drawers which are edged oak plywood.

My detailed plans 😉🙄

Tried to get both pups to model but a lost cause

Great job Barb, looks like it fits the need. Love you detailed plans. You're not the only one that uses plans like that. Well done.

Looks great BB

That looks great! Storage projects are always fulfilling because they’re so useful.
Look great BB. I’d kill to have a wet mud room. Not that we really need it where we are, but it’s such a great way to reduce clutter elsewhere!

Ryan/// ~sigh~ I blew up another bowl. Moke told me "I made the inside bigger than the outside".

Eric - thanks.  Most of my plans look like this one (or worse!).

Oldrivers - thanks!

Ron - thanks.  I agree.  Having organized storage is nice.  This was a simple project that helped organize our "junk drawer" in the kitchen (need to do a few more of these!)

Ryan- thanks.  I love having a sink and toilet back in the mudroom, plus the shower.  We had that built, plus the sunroom, about 15 years ago.  Was a great investment in the house for highly used space.
looks great barb, pups seem to appreciate it too !

working with my hands is a joy,it gives me a sense of fulfillment, somthing so many seek and so few find.-SAM MALOOF.

Pottz - thanks.  Treats are in the bottom drawer so they really like it!
Looks professional - nicely done!
Not sure why you were concerned about hanging out with the 'big boys'? Everything I've seen from you so far looks to be well thought out and well built!

Tony - that is kind of you.  Full disclosure...pocket holes may have been involved. 🤐😏
Mudroom has always amused me... I'd rather leave it outside, 'cept for SWMBO and her beauty therapy.

Neat job nevertheless BB1.

Eric - thanks.  Most of my plans look like this one (or worse!).
You gotta get onto SketchUp

If your first cut is too short... Take the second cut from the longer end... LBD

LBD- thanks.  Odd term perhaps, maybe better "room by backdoor to store stuff to try to keep the rest of the house cleaner" - that seems too long.  🤔

Have looked at SketchUp but couldn't get it and wasn't willing to invest the time to learn.  I'm at the computer a lot for my "real job" so for my hobby, that's not so appealing even though it looks to be a great tool for designing and troubleshooting.
