Box Joint Jig

Finally built a new Box Joint Jig for the new/used table saw I purchased this past year. Nothing fancy, base is 24" x 12" the jig was made from cabinet grade 3/4" plywood scraps form the job site, and oak runners. Dado cut is set for 1/4"

I made a couple of other boards to make box joints in either hexagon and octogon. All board faces have a strip of 150 grit paper glued in place to help with a grip.

Planning on making a few more, one for 1/2" joints and one for 3/4" joints.

These should come in handy making small boxes, and with multiple sides that I like to make.

i have plans to build one that the side are also the runners i think that should be very accurate :<)))))

I ended up putting 2 runners on the bottom, and I don't have any play on the jig. I have also waxed the bottom with good old Johnson's Paste Wax.

I love a good jig, and Tony don't delay if you want one. Looks like Eric and I both made them the same way, they are a quick, easy, build, and scraps can be used. I would suggest some QS hardwood for the slides, or some of the premade ones to ensure a good, tight, non wiggly slide. For my $$$$ if I wanted other sized kerfs, I would just build more jigs. A one sized jig can be made tightly, having a gizmo that adjusts width sounds like a probable size problem. They need not be big, so they don't take up space like a full on sled
Thanks George. You are right, easy to make from scraps, and cheap too. I use Oak for my runners and sneaked up on the fit, and using 2 instead of one really makes it steady.
