New Router Table

For many years, I had been using a not so good loking router table.  It was functional but looked bad.  So, I built a new, better looking one from various piece of plywood and such that was sitting around.  It is a pleasure to use this new router table.

The white tube in the side was for dust collections as I needed it to come from the  side and not the back.  This made it easy to move the router table up against the wall.

I am using an older Woodpecker Unilift with a PC 7518 router.

The top is pink formica which was free and it works well as I can write on it with a pencil and make marks.

The fence is hollow and allows for dust collection through it.

That is a really nice table...I have one very similar to it, and love it.  I have been going to replace the top several times, but haven't because after 15 years its still dead flat and works well.

There used to be a guy on ebay that sold these and I had eyed them several times, and even hit follow....he passed away and his wife offered me one unassembled for 50.00 plus shipping, so I did that.  Its the best table I ever owned.... you have a few more drawers, but other than that it is a clone.

Nice Job!!!!!

BirdsEye, that is a great router table, like the drawers in the front and the fence. The last fence I built should have had the split center. Can you add a photo of the back side of the fence? It looks like the verticle pins are the adjustment, and the horizontal one are for the split fence. If that is correct.

Isnt pink formica always free?
Alot of drawers - you fit a whole bunch of stuff in those.
Very nice build.

Yes, the vertical knobs are for fence adjustments and horizontal for the split fence.

Thanks for the compliments... I really enjoy the drawers and the pink Formica.
Great router station. You sure incorporated a lot of good ideas in it!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nice job, I'm still using the router table I built when I first started woodworking. A total piece of crap, but it works and I'm too lazy to replace it. As a matter of fact I use a car jack to adjust my bit height. Not because I'm cheap (ok, maybe a little), but I like the challenge of making something rather than buying it.

I struggled with my old rough built one for too long.  The dust collection is much better as well as the storage.  it was worth the work to make a new one.
