Built-in TV Unit

I built this about 8 years ago or so...
I drew the design for it.

It's all Alder stained and finish with pre-cat.
I have a lot of build pics,  Maybe I'll do a slide show with them.
The unit fit into this niche.

That is sweet and well detailed. I could use something like that at my house, but it would stick out too far into the living room, no niche. Are the panels below and to the side for speakers?

Well done. It’s a treat to be able to hide it in a wall like that.
Looks very clean.👌

The early bird gets the worm but its the second mouse that gets the cheese.

damn fine work bent.you ever consider doing it for a living ?

working with my hands is a joy,it gives me a sense of fulfillment, somthing so many seek and so few find.-SAM MALOOF.

Thanks You guys,
Eric,  yes speakers, a base and equipment.
I thought about it pottz, but then I wouldn't enjoy my hobby.

Neat job Bj...  gonna be a bugga if you decide to upgrade... TVs are continually getting bigger and cheaper.

BTW.  How do you (or SWMBO) keep those white tiles clean... I had dark slate on my floor that may have been mopped once or twice a year. I had a leak that required the tiles to be ripped up and I decided to replace the slate with white(ish) tiles.  Now I have to mop the bloody floor nearly twice a day.

If your first cut is too short... Take the second cut from the longer end... LBD

Looking back at drawings,  the opening is 52" x 82"  Big enough for the average 85" TV

Can't see the tiles from my house...

Bent

That is a great idea!  Also very well done.

How or where is the ventilation done?  Or is ventilation even needed?

Very beautiful, magnificent work and craftsmanship.  If you have build pictures, please do show in a blog, will make a great learning tutorial for me as well as some others.
Magnificant project...only , you must always by same size tv, in future...

Thanks Petey,
I made a cutout in the top (behind the TV)

Thanks Oldtool,
Maybe a slide show?  Pictures show as much as I could tell.  I'm not a great talker.

Thanks majuvla, That's the brilliance,  if they ever go smaller I have job security,  they can pay me to make a frame to go around it.  (@82" wide I don't think they will ever go bigger)

Bently,
Your work is always so spectacular.  We really love the way you jogged out the moldings around the pillars.  That really makes the design special.

Impeccable work, as always, Bentlyj.
