Demascus chefs knife.

Project Information
this is a 8" demascus chefs knife from alabama demascus. the handle is thuya burl sanded to 400 grit finished with 3 coats of maloof oil and a final polish with wax. i did not go for a high gloss finish due to the fact it's gonna get some heavy use and the shine wouldn't last anyway. it will be treated the same as a cutting board. the handle is attached with 5 minute epoxy and mosaic pins. i want to thank lj's member (sapwood) who's knife inspired me and turned me on to alabama who have a great selection of knife blanks.

oh i just want to add the blade does not come with a proper edge, that i had to hone myself. simple though.

Figuring out how to do something you have never done is what makes a good challenge.

Beautiful job pottz! Love that burl and the mosaic pins you chose compliment it well.

That is wicked cool looking steel.  The handle compliments it nicely.

I have been looking at Damascus bars on eBay to make something like this for dear old Dad. I definitely need to pick your brain, friend!
Super nice Knife top of the line blade from right here in Sweet Home Alabama.
You did a really good job Pottz.
P.S. Did you have to heat treat the blade?
