Segmented Salad Bowl

Segmented Walnut bowl, 9 3/4 inches in diameter, the limit of my Mini Lathe.    4 inches tall.    Wall thickness 3/16 inch.   Redheart on the top and bottom  with a layer of white veneer between the Walnut and the Redheart.     Used an adjustable sled to cut the segments.   Turned on my old Delta Mini Lathe.    Challenge was turning something this diameter on the mini lathe.   Have done two others earlier, this one turned out the best as far as proportions and shape.

Really nice! The veneer layer is a great accent. What’s the finish?

Ryan/// ~sigh~ I blew up another bowl. Moke told me "I made the inside bigger than the outside".

A beautiful bowl Ron, like the accent layers. Well done.

Poly finish, rubbed in while on the lathe, turning slowly.   Buffed, waxed and buffed again.   Probably not a good one for a true Salad Bowl, but it is cured well.
Thanks for the comment.

Nice, Ron! I like the accents, and it’s a shapely bowl.

May you have the day you deserve!

Good looking bowl and the white veneer rings add a nice touch to the appearance.
Ron,

Very nice-looking bowl.  Veneer and bloodwood, nice touch.

Appreciate the comments, means a lot.

That's a keeper Ron. I'd have to turn something considerably smaller on my Taig lathe if I had the skills. :)

Also attracted to that line of veneer, perfect "slight" accent to color-join the two bowl sections. Great looking turning!
Appreciate the comments.   Do not remember where I got the idea of using the veneer as a line in the turning.

Great looking bowl. I do like the accent lines.
I may incorporate it into my solid wood bowls.
The color and shape all work well on this one - nice!
Thanks for the comments.
