Box Swap 2023 - (Birdseye49)
The box is made from Red Oak with a Quarter Sawn top. The hinges and latch are all wood. Inside is a Screwdriver with multiple replaceable tips. Or, the screwdriver and tips can be removed and the box used for something else. The finish was Oil based Poly.
The bonus item is something that I really enjoy. I have been a rock collector all my life and this Geode was collected in the Keokuk, Iowa region. There are an amazing the number of Geodes in this area and I have been back there several times. The geodes are found in a limestone layer. The geode was cracked open to reveal the inside filled with quartz crystals. The geode was drilled with a diamond bit on the bottom to allow a small LED to be fitted inside and also to attach it to the box.

Well done BirdsEye. The box and the surprise inside. The box looks great and I really like the hinges and catch, (I need to try a wooden catch). The screwdriver is a wonderful addition and even better with the selection of bits. Now, the Geode, is really neat and the LED light is wonderful to show off the Quarts. It does remind me a bit of one of those salt lamps. Great Swap Items.

A warm box with interesting grain, but the catch takes it over the moon, nice work. Love the Geode. Does a fine job as a toy box too.
