Teacher Appreciation Swivel Pencil Boxes

I made a couple of these swivel pencil boxes for 2 of my grandchildren for Christmas gifts in 2021. A week ago they asked me to make some to give to their teachers for teacher appreciation day.
Intent on using up some scraps, I made the bodies from some poplar I had and made the bottom plates and sliding top from Purple Heart(2), padauk, cherry and Spalted maple.
While building the 3 for the teachers, I built 2 to put in the gallery.
Names laser engraved. Finished with shellac and wax.

Great looking boxes. Teachers would give you and A+ on those.
Unique and interesting boxes,  well done.

Those are nice boxes with a clever design. I’m sure the teachers love them.
What a great gift for a teacher!

Ryan/// ~sigh~ I blew up another bowl. Moke told me "I made the inside bigger than the outside".

All I ever managed was an E- with,

If your first cut is too short... Take the second cut from the longer end... LBD

Thanks. I appreciate everyone’s  comments. A fun little build…not sure about the teachers,  but made an “A” with the grands.
These are nice, and I bet teachers will love them. Well done.
