A quick momento of my grands visit to give to my daughter as a remembrance of their trip. Not so much woodworking other than the base material. Recreated a pic of the grands straddling the TN/VA state line marker in down town Bristol TN… or is it VA? 🤔  A combination of laser engraving, pyrography and water color on a chunk of a maple branch. Resawn and planed, left live edge
thats very cool dan.

working with my hands is a joy,it gives me a sense of fulfillment, somthing so many seek and so few find.-SAM MALOOF.

Nicely done

Ryan/// ~sigh~ I blew up another bowl. Moke told me "I made the inside bigger than the outside".

That's a fun idea and a great memento.
That's very attractive and creative piece.

Nice Dan. I have been in that spot. If I remember correctly there is a restaurant there which is split by the state line.

Main Street to the Mountains

I really like this.  The pyrography and coloring is amazing.  but the part that is really cool is the "frame" itself.  The texture and shading on that is awesome.  How did you do the gold vertical lines?
Thanks Eric. I’m not sure about the restaurant, this is State street in Bristol. It’s in front of the gallery space we are in.

Thanks Swirt. The vertical lines are the untouched base material. The high heat from burning the dark, discolored the vertical frame giving it the gold appearance.
Very cool. I was thinking it was some kind of gold inlay or something.
