Mission Style Medicine Cabinet With Beveled Mirror

This is the second Mission style Medicine cabinet I built in this design. It's almost identical the first one I build and it's made from the same boards I built the first one from.

It's made from Quarter Sawn White Oak. When I built the first one I wasn't familiar with Madullary rays and flicks in this type of wood and bought it from a lumber yard that must have got a deal on QSWO.

The mirror is 1/4" thick with a 1-1/4" bevel around the edges. The extra 1/4” accounts for the 1/4” that’s in the rabbit in the door and allows for a full 1” visible bevel. It’s from dullesglass.com and It cost about $145.00 because it’s custom made.

The Hardware is from Hortonbrasses.com. and are hand forged from solid brass in their light antique finish.

It’s an in wall recessed cabinet and is built to fit between the studs.

I placed one of my oil paintings on an easel to reflect its image in the mirror. It looks much better than my shop wall.
