It's a "bloody" jewelry box

This is an older project moved over from LJ's.

I made this box the first week in February, it's oak and bloodwood with a touch of turquoise. The bloodwood I purchased had some type of filler that I didn't like the look of, so I dug it out and used turquoise to add a little flare. I'm not sure if I want to do anything to the inside bottom of the box and tray, but if I do I think leather would look nice.
When I was waxing the box I dropped it on the concrete floor and it landed on it's side and snapped off 2 of the feet. One was easy to fix where the repair would never be seen. The other one was a little harder to get it just right, but you really can't tell now that it has finish on it.

Years ago i made a carved box modeled on a project I saw posted , sadly I dropped it on the concrete too as I was moving my table saw.
I was going to dump the lot  in  frustration however preserved and finished it.

Then gave it away to a family friend in the end.
I don't think it was as flash as yours!

Regards Rob

With timber that nice, the box deserves to be saved for sure

A great combination of wood in the pretty box John, Interesting way for the indexing on the lid, and the removable tray divider is really nice. All in all it looks great.

Eric, I thought I'd try something different with indexing the lid, it worked, but not sure I would do it again.
