No such thing as scrap wood, Just offcuts awaiting a project

My darling wife found me a project to help use up a small stack of my plywood offcuts awaiting a project,

26 Rocket Ships for next terms Kindygym program for the Local Community Club.

Just need to be painted now!

I made up the template then scribed the shape onto the ply offcuts then onto the bandsaw.
Next step was the drill press for the four holes and holesaw for the centre hole.
I used my small vertical linisher to sand everything
Lots of repetitive processes, but always good to help my wife with props for the Kindygym program

Nice work for a worthy cause. Cheers
Another great project.  I have to wonder how many toys have you made?  Love the ripple effect from your shop to so many others.

And I like the "pieces not yet used"  😉
Gift, charity, and program builds are the best.    See the smiles and hear the aaaahs.    Well done.

Very neat project Peter, and a wonderful cause. Always fun to see the smiles from the little ones.

I hear you with the scraps, I am using mine up on either kids projects or shop projects as I can. Let no piece go unused, no matter how small.

Nice way to use up small pieces and going to a good cause
That is a good idea for small pieces.
i agree about wood not yet used. not much goes in the trash in my shop. great project.

working with my hands is a joy,it gives me a sense of fulfillment, somthing so many seek and so few find.-SAM MALOOF.

Hi Peter. I have a room full of such pieces and I shop there first when starting a project. 80% of the time I find just what I need. I walk in the room and they all yell  " Pick me!!     Pick me!! "

Cheers, Jim

Thank you ladies and gentlemen for the kind words of encouragement.
With a small work space in a small shed toymaking is the best, other makers send their offcuts my way though I’m pretty sure I’ll be something like 100 before I get to use it all.
Toymaking has a double reward, first the project build then knowing and sometimes seeing the child playing with a toy that’ll last.
