Cherry Roan Rocking Horse

This is a toy for our great granddaughters to play with when they come over. This is my first rocking horse. It is 25" high, 33" long and 12" wide and made from Cherry with some walnut and a tiny bit of maple for the eyes. The 4th shot is the full scale drawing I made by printing a picture from Google and blowing it up in pieces on the copier and taping them together. I made plywood templates for all the parts from tracing that drawing. It is finished with Semi gloss clear spray enamel.

He's a pretty strong horse. I can even ride him!! The last 2 shots above are Mckinlee riding him just after I finished him.

I took a few process shots along the way and put them below. The last 2 shot are of the Cherry Roan today and with Mylah riding him

 Cheers, Jim

Super nice work, and the children really seem to be enjoying the ride.
That rocking horse is clearly a grandslam hit.  Great job Grandpa!  I like the rocking chair also!  A great build for Great grandkids.

What a great rocking horse!  And who doesn't enjoy a cookie while out on a ride.  The great granddaughters are cute and look to give this project a top score.
Absolutely perfect. Very good finish ''touches'', very precise shapes.
