Pencil box

This box measures 10.5” long, 2.5” tall and 3.5” deep. It is made with zebra wood and mahogany. The top opens on brass pins left slightly proud. I made the bottom too thin to be able to drill a coin into it, so it's not the best way to add my logo.
I made myself a punch to cut out leather cushions for the feet.

nice john !

working with my hands is a joy,it gives me a sense of fulfillment, somthing so many seek and so few find.-SAM MALOOF.

Nice John!
That is some Purdy zebra wood nice and tight pattern.

Great idea about punching out feet. I have a set of punches that would work well on leather.
I've always used the heavy felt feet. They are cheap, but I also think they look "cheap". Leather is a great solution.
Good looking box..   Like the lift for the lid.   Well done.

Really nice!  Like the grain wrap.  What finish did you use?  Looks great.
Nice looking box, turned out great.
Nicely done!

Ryan/// ~sigh~ I blew up another bowl. Moke told me "I made the inside bigger than the outside".

Love a good pencil box with wrap around grain

Like that flipper lid, the wood is so very nice, and it floats so nicely around the corners, Nice work John.
This looks great! The attention to detail paid off.
Just beautiful. My favourite type of box.

Thanks Tom, I felt it was almost mandatory. Grain matching really shows when using zebra wood.

Thank you Mel, not really sure what this box will be used for, just wanted to make something with the zebra wood.
