Large mouth bass

Each year it seems that a particular object is more popular than others when I receive orders.  One year, the giraffes were the game.  Another year, sea turtles were requested, a lot.  This year it seems that large mouth bass fishermen want in on the action.  This is the second cutting of this pattern and was ordered for a Christmas present for a fisherman in southern California.  Still have one more to do.  Having difficulties with both of my saws but trying to figure it out.

That is some impressive scroll saw work!
Absolutely beautiful Jane. I have a scroll saw and have made a few pieces, but I can't imagine doing something like this. Hundreds of little holes to feed the blade through. The burl wood is the perfect backdrop.

Too tedious for me, but beautiful work.

Wow! That’s incredible!

Ryan/// ~sigh~ I blew up another bowl. Moke told me "I made the inside bigger than the outside".

Jane,
Your work is incredible!  How large is it and how thick is the piece?

Not only a great job of scrolling but what a beautiful piece of wood to do it in.  What saws do you have.  I have a Hegner which I love and am looking at Hawk a gentleman has for sale close by.  I have never sat at a Hawk, but always wanted to.  You ever been to scrollsaw village?  They would love to see your work over there.
Okay I saw a Seyco.  I had one of the first put out.. Great saw.  I miss it.
Challenging subject in challenging wood! You have the patience of a saint!
Amazing!!

Beautiful, with excellent detailing. Great job. Did you have to treat the wood with something to keep it from blowing out little pieces or did it hold together ?
WOW at first glance i thought it was printed on stone but wow scroll saw work is excellent and wood makes this project the finest GR8 JOB 😍😎👍

i also ask what saw and blade ?

Most of my work is done on the Seyco 21".  Sometimes on my 30" Excalibur.  I've used Olson blades for years but I'm starting to experiment with other brands.  This bass was was approximately 14" diameter and an inch and a quarter+ thick.  Most everything I do on the scroll saws is on maple burl slabs from Oregon.
