Muddler

A muddler is a tool used to squash the fruit at the bottom of a mixed drink. I made this one for my friend's daughter who is a bar tender in Wisconsin. They are  usually at 8" or 10" long so I made this one 9" to be unique in length and in the design. I tried to make it comfortable when using it.

This muddler is made from mesquite and coated with Danish oil which is food safe after about 5 days of drying. Jim may wax it  later too!

Bring on the Juleps. The Mint loves to be muddled. If you are making them at home, and crushed ice isn't part of your plumbing, whacking wrapped ice is a great way to get those crushed chips, and what better whacker than your muddler.

Looking good Jim, and Mesquite makes a mean muddler. :-)

I've never seen it, but I imagine a Bartender could use one to whack too partied persons, upside the head to say, just lay down, and go to sleep.
every bar tender needs one !

working with my hands is a joy,it gives me a sense of fulfillment, somthing so many seek and so few find.-SAM MALOOF.
