Router Table Height Indicator

I made this indicator for our router table in the park in Arizona. I used a drop indicator from Harbor Freight and I checked  it over an  inch  with gage blocks and it is right on . Pretty good for $18.
The frame is made from Sycamore and the feet are corian. I put a brass bushing in it for a stop so the dial can still be turned to set the zero at each measurement. The aluminum foot is epoxied on .

It is a little wider that his cousin used in my shop in Michigan. That is because the adjustment hole in the router base I'm using down there is off center. I made a steel adjustment rod for it and that is already packed away, This really made subsequent cuts very accurate on the router table.

Nice homemade tool, Jim.

Ryan/// ~sigh~ I blew up another bowl. Moke told me "I made the inside bigger than the outside".

I love it. Very classy. The details are what make it. Never thought to use corian in that way
You Sir, are really on a roll. Nice make.
A luxurious fine adjustment tool. A nice idea.

Dang good idea, I need one of these. Currently in the process of rounding over some project edges with router in table, first cut set a little too high and now I've got to remove a slight ridge. Live & learn, then make a solution. 👍
Great solution, and affordable!
im more of the close enuff camp but this is very nice GR8 JOB 😍😎👍

No reason to buy one when you can make one that nice!
Very nice ! You do good work!

I used a HF dial indicator to align my tablesaw fence. Attached it to a miter slot runner.

Thank you for al the nice comments.

Hi Hairy. I also have a horizontal indicator set up like you described for use on the router table to adjust the fence in thousandths.

Real handy Jim.  Dial indicators are the best thing since sliced bread 😁
Cool! I hate creeping up on dimensions. I'm going to make one.

nice precision tools.

Thanks  Ken, Steven, Ron and Jerry!!
Hi Steven the problem with creeping up on a dimension without knowing just how much you are cutting off is that sometimes you go past the dimension and cut too much off. I used to use a scrap piece for the creeping up part and now I just move it the right amount and it is good.

I like it. It's always strougle with normal square ruller.

Thanks, Ivan.  It saves guess work to get to the right height because the graduations on the router table lift are not reliable or of fine enough increments. Do you have a Harbor Freight in your part of the country
