They are called "Inlay Dovetails " but heck the process could be argued as double dovetails. Good question.
Looks pretty special

SWEET!!!!! On a jig they require exact setup, by hand they are crazy good Rick.

Leigh calls them Inlaid DT's, my jig can do them, but it is an exercise of exactness.
Here...I do them by hand using a dozuki hand saw and chisels. Every cut has to be perfect. It's a bit of work but worth it.
Yeah, that’s a ton of work man! On my Incra router guide they’re called double dovetails…and are waaaay easier than what you did! Although the lineups are crucial even for that! Well done.

RyanGi....I don't know exactly how to explain it but there's something very satisfying about being able to do it by hand. In time they become pretty straight forward and relatively easy to do and you walk away with a skill you didn't have before.
These add a great deal of beauty to the project, well dond.
I am truly amazed that this was done by hand...very well done !!!!

Thanks guys! I do almost everything by hand. I always do dovetails by hand. Maybe someday I'll do a post showing the steps for this particular one. Think anyone would be interested?
I’m always interested in step by step instruction for something so cool!

Most excellent!

Thank you kindly Gary G!
I also have the potential for those with my Incra fence, but never tried, They are visually stunning and a big 👍 for doing by hand.
You not only need to get it exact once, you need to do it twice!

.....You not only need to get it exact once, you need to do it twice

You got that right! And then you have 4 corners to do. LOL!
I always like seeing the technique behind the result.  Please post a "how I did that" if you can.

Huh? Whadaya mean it ain't "measure once cut twice"?

That inlay sure makes some attractive dovetails!!
