The Station

A public art piece I made for the city of Langford on Vancouver Island. The site was an old train station, on Station Ave and it sits beside several railway tracks. My biggest piece to date. It's over 13' high and weighs approx 3500 lbs. I bought a fly press from England and had it shipped over specifically for this job. It allowed me to bend all of the 1/2' spike plates cold. They even offered me some actual train wheels (if I could move them...lol) but at 10,000 lbs (they come as a set) I declined... lol

Like others have said... Just amazing.
Thanks for the nice comments! This one was a little nerve racking because it's a huge departure from my usual style and the sheer size was daunting (ie: I had to a crane truck for a day to stand up the tracks while I welded them in place)
