Box with glass bottle insert

This is another design in this series of boxes with glass bottle inserts. This one was made with canarywood and walnut. Not sure what wood the stripes are. I think this one might be the right amount of detail. Not too much time spent, but still looks like some effort went into making it.

Another winner John!
How do you keep the lid and body "clocked" so that the stripes align when closed, thread on the lid then press the jar into the base with glue?

That looks real nice John. Never heard of canarywood. Where do you get it?
Interesting idea. I like the combination of timber.
Looks good.
First thing I thought of when looking at the stripes is Bloodwood.

Bruce, they have a child proof lid, so I put a couple of screws in the top in so it no longer works. Then do exactly what you said. When I made the first one, I didn't lock the top with screws and once closed, I couldn't get it back open.

I couldn't get it back open.

Well that’s a problem! Hadn’t thought about that issue…

Generally "child proof" really means adult proof.
True…
